The 200 Million Pound Man is a Bit of a Shit!

If you contain the slightest interest in football these days then it won’t come as a surprise that Neymar Jr is on his way to the French capital to join Paris Saint Germain. Outrageous as it may sound, the fee is going to be above the £200 million mark. Ludicrous, in most aspects of life besides football, this is the latest in a number of moves made by the Parisian outfit to join the ‘big boys’ of world football.

The Brazilians team-mate and some might say mentor, Messi, has recently signed a new deal which would seem to suggest the club value the Argentine's efforts in higher esteem than those of Jr’s. A realisation of which has possibly resulted in the former Santos player becoming disillusioned with his status at his current club. That and €€€ have most likely persuaded him to jump ship and head for the Middle Eastern backed club in Paris.

There is no doubting Neymar’s incredible talent; he is without doubt at the top of world football alongside Messi and Ronaldo. At times over the past few seasons he’s shown glimpses that he is as good if not better than the aforementioned greats. However there is definitely a question over the guys attitude. Personally I think it absolutely reeks of an immature, selfish young man both on the pitch and off it.

Long championed as Brazil’s next superstar, he has lived up to this expectation, something that many have failed to do but from day one his attitude has always been questionable at best. The lack of discipline he shows borders on the ridiculous at times. Marca reported earlier this year that captaining the national side may no longer be an option due to his poor disciplinary record.

Pepe, possibly the game’s biggest bastard, compared his own disciplinary record to that of the Brazilian’s when attempting to reject the accusation that he himself was a violent player. The Portuguese centre half was booked less often than Neymar Jr during the 15/16 season. Not only is Neymar’s disciplinary record extremely poor, his verbal abuse of referees rears its ugly head all too often. Anyone who’s watched the majority of his football over the past number of seasons simply cannot deny his petulance and arrogance, displayed all too frequently. While these displays are not at all new to the Brazilian captain, the excuse of age and immaturity may have bailed him out earlier on in his career, not anymore.

There is one excuse that does provide some reasoning for his demeanor – His Aul Fella! Another gobshite by all accounts. Okay maybe the previous statement is a bit harsh; however Neymar Snr has been acting as one of his agents and advisors for the majority of his career, earning reportedly insane amounts of money while doing so. Neymar Snr has played out a very public spat between himself and former club Santos, once accusing them of talking 'verbal diarrhea'. The guy is also responsible for looking after the tax affairs of the Brazilian captain, something that has landed both in hot water with the Spanish authorities.  The transfer alone from Santos to Barca saw massive amounts of money being payed to Neymar Snr. It's fair to say he may not have been the greatest role model for the young star.

We’ve all heard the ‘it’s the South American attitude/style of play’ excuse for the guys behavior however, if he is to become the world’s most expensive player & most likely in the near future become the a Ballon d'Or winner, the attitude simply has to change.
